DNEP Free Accounting (formerly Free Accounting Fridays) is a collaboration between the University of Michigan’s Detroit Neighborhood Entrepreneurs Project (DNEP) and Business+Impact at the Ross School of Business. DNEP Free Accounting hires U-M students with experience in accounting and financial analysis to work as student consultants throughout the year. In this innovative course model, you’ll learn how to address a wicked problem using scholarly research, design methodologies, and business acumen. The skills you’ll develop are both rare and in-demand with top employers, and key to tackling big societal challenges. Your interdisciplinary graduate student team made up of MBAs, MSWs, MPPs, MEds, MUPs, etc. will translate research into impactful applications through the lens of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). User Experience Lab is led by UMSI graduate students and provides user experience design methods and consulting services to U-M student entrepreneurs and local startup agencies. In this program, UMSI graduate students apply their knowledge and expertise of user-centered design to real-world business, innovation and entrepreneurship contexts, under the mentorship of UX professionals.
