Meet Siobhan Barrett, DNEP’s New Program & Business Development Manager

Siobhan Barrett has been hired as the new Program and Business Development Manager for Detroit Entrepreneurs Project announced. 

Joining DNEP from ProsperUs Detroit where Siobhan was a Loan Officer providing capital in the form of microloans to low income entrepreneurs of color running small businesses in Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park and Inkster. 

Siobhan’s professional background gives her extensive knowledge and experience in process innovation and collaboration by being a proactive and engaged member of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Siobhan is a consummate community builder and seeks out ways to serve community partners throughout the entrepreneurial ecosystem in order to strengthen her relationships and ability to act as a trusted connector for entrepreneurs. 

Before ProsperUs, Siobhan worked as a senior mortgage banker at Rocket Mortgage, where she led her team in winning multiple competitions, and was also the recipient of the “Love our Clients” award for outstanding performance in client service and sales. Siobhan has also founded and managed several businesses, and currently operates and creates lingerie for her 12 year old hobby business, Siobhan Barrett Lingerie. This experience allows Siobhan intimate knowledge of the entrepreneurial journey, its highlights and pain points and allows her to operate with empathy when assisting businesses to access resources that they need or to help guide them toward resources they don’t know they need yet. 

Siobhan is most excited and eager to create, strengthen and support pathways of economic growth by connecting entrepreneurs to resources through DNEP. Siobhan will be based at the U-M Detroit Center and can be found at our community partners around Detroit.
