The Detroit Neighborhood Entrepreneurs Project (DNEP) is a program that brings together small businesses with University of Michigan students, faculty and staff to solve business owners’ legal, financial, marketing, operational, and design challenges. We are invested in Detroit neighborhoods and student learning.

How DNEP Works:

Business owners who want to work with teams of U-M teams can explore opportunities on this site and learn how to apply or sign up. Services are free to business owners.

Students who want real-world experience working with Detroit business owners can register for a DNEP course or apply to work as a student consultant.

Faculty who want to work with Detroit neighborhood-based businesses in their engaged learning courses can sign up to make their class a DNEP-partner course.
